ANALISIS KEKERABATAN BAHASA BATAK MANDAILING, ANGKOLA DAN PADANG BOLAK
Abstract
Language is the communication tool which is used by the human to interact with the
others. In doing their daily activities the society use the language to express their ideas. There
are so many languages in the world. Each place has their own language and different one each
other, such in Indonesia. As we know together that Indonesia is the rich country that consists
from variety of cultures. These varieties of cultures make Indonesian have many of languages.
One of the famous cultures in Indonesia is Batakness. We can find the Batakness in North
Sumatera, especially in Tapanuli region. The society in that place use Batak language to
communicate one of each other. But regarding to the development at this moment, this language
has been removing from the basic form. It is because the influence of environment, such as
technology, social and other language. Considering into that case, the team of researcher are
interest to conduct the research entitled “Analisis Kekerabatan Bahasa Batak Mandailing,
Angkola dan Padang Bolak”. This research has the purpose to find out and analyze those Batak
sub-languages. Hopefully through this research, the reader are able to know the similarity
among these sub-languages and also the difference. This research is conducted through the
culture approach. In order to conduct this research, the team of researcher use the qualitative
method. Then the location of this research is conducted in three areas, those are Pidoli Dolok
(Mandailing Natal region), Sibio-Bio (South Tapanuli region), and Aek Godang (North Padang
Lawas region). In this research use 5 samples, that is the native speaker (the society who has
born and lived at research location). Meanwhile, to collect the needed data the team of
researcher use the questioners as the instrument and based on these steps: 1) observation; 2)
Interview; and 3) spread the questioners. From the field of research, we can find that there is
the similarity and and the difference among the sub-language. For example the glosarium in
Bahasa “Bulu”, in Mandaling called as “habong”, in Angkola called as “imbulu”, and in Padang
Bolak also calles as “imbulu”. The result of this research is still tentative, and the team of
researcher will precede to the final result. And also through this research are able to give us the
valid information of Batak sub-languages that used by the society in Mandailing, Angkola and
Padang Bolak.
