The purpose of this study was to analyze the Economic Growth Model of South Tapanuli Regency. This research is descriptive quantitative by using secondary. The population and sample of this research are data from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Mandailing Natal. As for the data collection techniques used, namely statistical data and observation. The data analysis method used is Location Quotient Analysis and Shift Share Analysis.Economic sectors that have the potential to be further developed in the entire South Tapanuli Regency and as a reference for local governments in increasing regional economic growth for the future, based on the Sectoral Typology in the existing Regency, namely the agricultural sector; mining or quarrying; and others. In addition to the basic sector, the non-base sector that has the potential to be developed and become the concentration of local governments is to be made a sector with the criteria for rapid growth, which means this sector is a non-base sector, so it has the potential to be developed into a basic sector. These sectors are the electricity, gas and water sector and the transportation and communication sector.The participation of the local government and local communities in making initiatives for the procurement of an integrated development area with the surrounding area as a growth center and the local government of South Tapanuli Regency.Keywords: South Tapanuli Regency Economic Growth Model.
