KOHESI GRAMATIKAL DAN LEKSIKAL DALAM GENRE NARASI ”BATU BELAH”

Abstract

This article focused on grammatical and lexical cohesion found in Malay narrative of Batu Belah. This article also determined the most dominant cohesion in the text. In undertaking data analysis technique on this article, quantitative analysisi was used. Systemic Functional Linguistics was applied in this article to show cohession is a semantic relation between one sentence to another. This article showed that Grammatical Cohession of reference cohession to a sum of 37 pieces (58,7%), conjunction cohession as 20 pieces (31,7%) and ellipsis cohession as 6 pieces (9,5%).While Lexical Cohessi-on such Repetition as 6 pieces (60 %), antonym 2 (20%), and meronim 2 (20 %). Thus, in this article the lexical co-hession is more dominant than the gra-mmatical cohession
