Abstract

The scale of livestock ownership is important because it is related to the village-based (traditional) breeding model or pattern of breeding during good maintenance. The study was conducted in Angkola Timur District in May-July 2019. This type of research is quantitative by testing hypotheses (explanatory). This research method uses a survey conducted by purposive sampling, which is based on the criteria of farmers who have 4-5 cattle as a main or side business. The sample villages (locations) used as research sites are Pargarutan Dolok, Pargarutan Julu, Pargarutan Jae, and Panompuan Jae. Analysis of descriptive statistical data by grouping, and presentation of frequency distribution table data and Likert scale. Statistical analysis using linear regression. The results showed that there was no influence of the scale of ownership of the Village Breeding Center (VBC) on the people's goat farms in East Angkola District. The magnitude of the effect of the ownership scale variable (X) on the Village Breeding Center (VBC) (Y), seen in the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.029 or 2.9%, in other words that there are other variables that affect outside the model by 7,1%. It is recommended that limitations be reached by contributing to supporting the welfare of goat farmers supported by the Local Regional Government Program or the Government
