Abstract

This study aims to find out and analyze the Strategy of St. James Merauke Catholic High School in Increasing Student Interest in Catholic Religious Education Study Program. The method used is descriptive qualitative by using data obtained from interviews with several informants using data collection techniques, namely, the data reduction stage, the data presentation stage, the data retrieval and verification stage. The indicators used in the frame of mind consist of 4 (four) indicators, namely: Organizational Strategy, Program Strategy, Resource Support Strategy and Institution Strategy. The results of this study showed that the preparation of the mission vision of the Catholic High School Study Program was based on the great ideals of the Archdiocese of Merauke, namely to produce the output of Catholic religious teachers and catechists or pastoral officers. To attract prospective students, catholic high schools conduct several excellent programs, namely Easter and Christmas assistance programs, Pastoral Weekends, Real Work Lectures, Free registration fees, Scholarships and also provide dormitories for students who come from outside the city who have no place to live. Resources and human resources in the Catholic High School consists of lecturers of education personnel involved in seeking the development of institutions in a better direction.
