PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA SISWA MENGGUNAKAN METODE FONIK KELAS II SD NEGERI 0106 SIBUHUAN JAE
Abstract
This research aims to: (1) determine students' ability to read objects, animals and plants around me in class II of SD Negeri 0106 Sibuhuan Jae before using the phonics method. (2) determine students' reading ability regarding objects, animals and plants around me in class II of SD Negeri 0106 Sibuhuan Jae after using the phonics method. The type of research used is classroom action research which consists of 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. From the results of the research, it can be concluded that: students' reading abilities before using the phonics method were still low, only 4 students had good reading abilities. Students' reading abilities after using the phonics method begin to improve. In cycle I, it can be seen that when the teacher shows a letter and makes a sound, students begin to be able to understand, write and read it. Students also begin to recognize consonants and vowels, students begin to recognize letter shapes, students also begin to be able to read simple pictures and point to letters or pick up letters, matching words with pictures. Then in cycle II there were 2 students who had reading abilities in the very good category, 13 students who had reading abilities in the good category and 2 students who had reading abilities in the not good category.
