Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of women traders in the Inpres market in Padang Matinggi to family income. As well as to find out the factors that affect the merchant's income. This study used a qualitative method. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The population in this study were all female traders in the Inpres market, Padang Matinggi, Kec. Padangsidimpuan Selatan, amounting to 30 people, which means that the entire population was sampled in this study. Data collection in this study was carried out by means of direct observation accompanied by interviews.

The role of income of women traders on family income is low. This can be seen by looking at the average income contribution of the respondents by 43%. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 86.7%, meaning that the independent variables in this model are working capital (X1) and working hours (X2). While the remaining 13.3% is influenced by other variables outside the estimation model. Together, the variables of business capital (X1) and working hours (X2) have an effect on the income of women traders (Y) in the Padangmatinggi Presidential Market.
