Abstract

The problem in this research is whether small group discussion method can improve students'
statistical learning ability at Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Graha Nusantara. This study
aims to: (1) improve student learning statistics. (2) the reference of more complex learning
methods in the classroom. The research instrument used is observation and test. The test used is
written test in the form of description as much as 3 (three) test, each consisting of 10 pieces of
matter, while observation done by observing all activity and change of student when class
action done. From the research result can be seen the improvement of student learning
outcomes on descriptive statistical material with the result of the initial value of master
student's mastery level reaches 63.16% and then increases in cycle I to 68.80% and in the
second cycle increased to 79.20%. From the observation of student changes also seen the
students activeness in expressing the opinion of the class. From the analysis results can be
concluded that small group discussion can improve student learning statistics and student
activeness.
