PENGARUH KEHADIRAN TOKO MODERN TERHADAP KEBERLANGSUNGAN WARUNG TRADISIONAL DI KOTA PADANGSIDIMPUAN

Abstract

This research was conducted in Padangsidimpuan City. The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of modern shops on the sustainability of traditional stalls in Padangsidimpuan city and to find out the strategies carried out by traditional shop owners in order to compete with modern shops. In this study there are dependent variables (the dependent variable) namely the continuity of traditional stall business and the independent variable (independent variable), namely the presence of a modern shop. Samples taken in this study amounted to 30 samples that are the object of research are traditional stalls in the District of North Padangsidimpuan. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires directly to traditional stall business owners. This research was conducted by descriptive method. After calculating the data it is known that the correlation value (r_XY) is 0.49. By comparing into the correlation interpretation table the effect is "medium". So it is known that the existence of a modern shop has an influence on the sustainability of traditional stalls in Padangsidimpuan. The strategy of traditional stalls in order to compete with minimarkets is to attract sympathy from each buyer and open a 24-hour stall. The existence of a competitive strategy and survive traditional stalls with minimarkets, traditional stalls in the future will continue to run and not bankrupt. Because with this competitive and enduring strategy they have already gotten a steady and sufficient sales results. With a competitive strategy and survive traditional stalls will continue in the future.
